Merit based: (Undergraduate) scholarships are based on academic performance, which could be high school achievements (such as TER) and/or academic results at University (based on course weighted average).

Merit based: (Postgraduate) for higher degree by research scholarships, merit will be determined by level of honours, course weighted average for postgraduate diploma and masters, or for conference and journal publications.

Need based scholarships are based on low socio-economic status and/or financial need and/or educational disadvantage (for example from a rural & remote area) and/or personal circumstances.
