"The George Compton Scholarship really helped me in achieving my academic goals during my last year of study in Kalgoorlie. By having this financial security I was able to focus solely upon my studies, this in turn allowed me to make the most of my opportunities and be a highly competitive graduate in today's market."

The George Compton Geology Scholarship has been developed by Reed Resources Ltd in conjunction with Curtin University to encourage students considering a career in geology to undertake their studies at Kalgoorlie. The scholarship is to honour the work of the late George Compton, a highly respected Goldfields geologist and author.

Reed Resources Ltd is an emerging mid-tier gold mining company in Western Australia, developing a major gold project at Meekatharra. It also has a high grade lithium resource and a high grade titanium/vanadium resource under evaluation, and exploration interests in iron ore and nickel.

The George Compton Geology Scholarship will be awarded on academic merit to a third year or honours student who is enrolled in an eligible science degree at Curtin University.
