Expectations of Scholars
As a John Curtin Scholar, you will be expected to:
- undertake an approved international experience;
- have regular community service involvement;
- make satisfactory progress in your chosen course of study; and
- meet with the JCUS Coordinator on a monthly basis.
You will also:
- meet with the John Curtin Scholars once a month over lunch to hear guest speakers from both within the University and from the wider community. These lunches help you form strong bonds with other John Curtin Scholars undertaking different courses to your own;
- be given $6,000 to pursue overseas study opportunities;
- with our assistance, develop new community links and interests;
You will have the opportunity to:
- visit a remote Aboriginal community in Laverton;
- be a leader in the annual John Curtin Weekend activities; and
- participate in activities with Curtin Volunteers!
