About this scholarship
The Peter Bradford Scholarship is available to assist Curtin University students experiencing financial hardship across all faculties/disciplines. Preference will be given to those students who have relocated from remote/regional areas across Australia.

The Peter Bradford Scholarship will provide the following support as one-off payment (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits):
- A cash payment of $2,500. The scholarship may be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards payment to their course fees, or for other education related expenses such as text books and/or general living expenses.
Scholarship Details
Any undergraduate degrees at Curtin University.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Peter Bradford Scholarship:
- Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
- Enrolled full-time or part-time at Curtin in semester 1, 2024
- A minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 60 (for current students) or an ATAR score of 75 (for commencing students)
- From a low socio-economic background and/or experiencing financial hardship
Application process
Step 1: Access application form
- Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
- Please note that this link will direct you to the general "Equity Scholarship Program" application form. Once you submit your application, you will then be considered for all scholarships that you are eligible for in this round.
- If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (both equity as well as merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete).
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process
- Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time

Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Responses to questions in application form
- Demonstration of financial hardship
- Socioeconomic background
- Preference will be given to students who have relocated or will be relocating from remote / regional areas across Australia.
Step 6: Outcome
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 6-8 weeks of the scholarship closing date
Step 7: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline
Please note:
- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient need and merit
- The award and continuity of the scholarship is subject to receipt by Curtin of the scholarship funding from the industry sponsor
Enrolment Requirements
Recipients must meet all of the following:
- Remain enrolled in an eligible course of study at Curtin University
- Participation in one or more of the following:
- Provide a testimonial/statement to Curtin's Office of Advancement outlining the impact the scholarship has had on your student experience
- Have a photograph taken, to accompany the testimonial mentioned above
- Feature in a short promotional video
- Event hosted by Curtin's Office of Advancement
- Provide statements to local media if a press release is developed to promote the program
