About this scholarship
The Curtin Enabling Program Bursary has been developed to support enabling students who are experiencing financial hardship. This bursary can provide financial assistance towards accommodation costs, travel costs and expenses associated with studying online.

The Curtin Enabling Program Bursary will provide the following support (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits):
- A one-off cash payment of $1,000. The amount can be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses.

- Indigenous Pre-Science and Engineering Enabling Course
- Indigenous Pre-Medicine and Health Sciences Enabling Course
- Indigenous Tertiary Enabling Course
- UniReady Enabling Program
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered eligible for the Curtin Enabling Program Bursary:
- Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian or New Zealand citizen
- Enrolled in minimum of 25 credits in an eligible enabling program at Curtin University in semester 2, 2024
- Past the compulsory school age in semester 2, 2024 (as defined by the Western Australian School Education Act 1999)
- Demonstrated low socio-economic status and financial hardship
- Have a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 50 (if applicable)
- Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
Application process
Step 1: Access online application form
- Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
- Please note that this link will direct you to the general "Equity Scholarship Program" application form. Once you submit your application, you will then be considered for all equity scholarships that you are eligible for in this round.
- If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (equity and merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the "Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program".
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process

Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Responses to questions in application form
- Demonstration of financial hardship
- Socio-economic background
Step 6: Outcome
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 6-8 weeks of the scholarship closing date
Step 7: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline

- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient need
Enrolment Requirements
