The scholarship will provide the following support:

  • A one-off cash payment of $3,000 (six week program). The amount can be used at the recipient's discretion towards educational and travel related expenses
  • Opportunities to learn about a field of interest and be involved in research projects with international institutions

Scholarship Details

2nd or 3rd year within one of the following undergraduate discipline areas:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computing
  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Physics and Astronomy

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Summer Vacation NCP Scholarship:

  • Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian or New Zealand citizen
  • Have a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 65
  • Enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum 50 credits) in the 2nd or 3rd year of an eligible course in semester 2, 2024
  • Interested in commencing one of the Summer Vacation NCP projects in January 2025
  • Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are faculty funded and/or for the same purpose

NCP Projects

The Singapore-based projects are available for all disciplines in the school, whereas the India-based projects are available to all disciplines except for Mathematics and Statistics.

Application process

Step 1: Access application form

  • Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
  • Tips on how to complete your application can be found on the ‘Applying for scholarships’ link on the scholarships website

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS)
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
    • Responses to questions in application form
    • Academic merit
    • Highest CWA
    • Project preference

Step 6: Outcome

  • All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 4 weeks of the scholarship closing date

Step 7: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit

Enrolment Requirements

  • Maintain an enrolment of at least 50 credits in semester 2, 2024
  • Attendance at the School of EECMS Summer Vacation NCP program over the summer break for which the scholarship is awarded for
  • Achieve a satisfactory standard of academic progress as determined by the principal supervisor
  • Not receive any other scholarships that are faculty funded and/or for the same purpose whilst receiving the scholarship
