About this scholarship
The Summer Vacation Scholarship has been developed by Curtin University to support and encourage students who have chosen to study one of the EECMS courses: Electrical Engineering, Computing, Mathematics and Statistics, & Physics and Astronomy at Curtin University.

The Summer Vacation Scholarship will provide the following support:
- A one-off cash payment of up to $3,000 (six week program) or up to $4,000 (eight week program). The amount can be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses.
- Opportunity to learn about your field of interest
- Possible involvement in research projects
Scholarship Details
Be enrolled in an eligible year level and undergraduate degree as outlined below:
2nd or 3rd year within one of the following discipline areas:
- Electrical Engineering
- Computing
- Mathematics and Statistics
1st, 2nd, or 3rd year within the following discipline area:
- Physics and Astronomy
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Summer Vacation Scholarship:
- International student, Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or the holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
- Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 65
- Enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum 50 credits) in an eligible year level and course in semester 2, 2024
- Interested in commencing one of the Summer Vacation programs from December 2024
- Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are faculty funded and/or for the same purpose

Application process
Step 1: Access application form
- Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process
- Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
- Tips on how to complete your application can be found on the ‘Applying for scholarships’ page on the scholarships website
Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Responses to questions in application form
- Academic merit
- Highest CWA
- Project preference
Step 6: Outcome
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 4 weeks of the scholarship closing date
Step 7: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline
Please note:
- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
Enrolment Requirements
- Maintain an enrolment of at least 50 credits in semester 2, 2024
- Attendance at the School of EECMS summer vacation program over the summer university break for which the scholarship is awarded for
- Achieve a satisfactory standard of academic progress as determined by the principal supervisor
