About this scholarship

The Capital Partners Scholarship in Financial Planning (the Scholarship) has been established with the objective of fostering excellence among students who are pursuing the Finance and Financial Planning Double Major at Curtin University.

The Scholarship will provide the following support for up to two years (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits per semester):

  • A total of $10,000 paid as a cash stipend of $2,500 per semester. The stipend may be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards payment of their course fees, or for other education-related expenses such as text books and/or general living expenses.
  • Guaranteed paid vacation work with the sponsor. Acceptance of this opportunity is not mandatory for the student, however is highly encouraged.

Scholarship Details

Enrolled in the penultimate year of a Finance and Financial Planning Double Major at Curtin University:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Financial Planning) - (2nd year)
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Advanced Honours) (Finance and Financial Planning) (3rd year)

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the scholarship:

  • Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
  • Have a minimum Course Weighted Average (CWA) of 70
  • Enrolled in the penultimate year of an eligible degree and major for semester 1, 2025
  • Enrolled full-time (100 credits)
  • Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose

Application process

Step 1: Access application form

  • Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
  • If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all other scholarships (both equity as well as merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete).

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
  • Tips on how to complete your application can be found on the ‘Applying for scholarships’ link on the scholarships website (including interview preparation)

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using one or more of the following criteria:
    • Responses provided in application form
    • Academic merit
    • Extracurricular and leadership
    • Passion for course / vision for career
    • Interview performance (for shortlisted applicants)
       

Step 6: Shortlist for Interview

  • Shortlisted applicants will be sent an interview date and time via their student email
  • Shortlisted applicants must be available for the designated interview time
    • Interviews will be conducted between 3 and 17 April 2025
  • Unsuccessful applicants will be sent a notification via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) 
     

Step 7: Outcome

  • Successful and unsuccessful interview applicants will be notified of their outcome via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) within approximately two weeks of their interview date

Step 8: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit

Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must meet all of the following:

  • Remain enrolled in initial course of study
  • Maintain a full-time study load of 100 credits each semester at Curtin University
  • Maintain a Course Weighted Average (CWA) of at least 70 each semester
  • Pass all enrolled units each semester
  • Not apply for or receive any other scholarships that are from the same funding source or for the same purpose
