About this scholarship

This scholarship is made available and administered by SUT (Society for Underwater Technology) and is not affiliated with Curtin.  You should contact SUT for up-to-date information about the scholarship, and to apply. 

The SUT (Society for Underwater Technology) Digital Automation in Engineering Scholarship (the Scholarship) is funded by the generosity of Subsea Engineering Associates. This scholarship is awarded to an applicant who has shown initiative during their studies, by applying programming skills to complement, automate and improve their subsea analysis and design work. The applicant has to aspire to work in the subsea industry.

The Scholarship will provide the following support:

  • A total value of $5,000 paid in two equal instalments in the first half of 2026

Scholarship Details

Applicants must be in a course which embraces Marine Science; Underwater Technology or Offshore Engineering. They must be in their last two years of their undergraduate degree or otherwise in post graduate studies.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be enrolled Full time in first semester 2026 at an Australian or New Zealand University 
  • Applicants must not be working Full time in first semester 2026 
  • Applicants must be entering into the last two years of their Undergraduate Course in 2026; or undertaking a post graduate course in 2026; 
  • Applicants do not need to be Australian Citizens 
  • Applicants may qualify for/ hold other scholarships

The application form needs completion along with a copy of your academic results and an academic reference is optional. 
Interviews will be held in October for short listed candidates.

Enrolment Requirements

Successful recipients will need to show proof of enrolment for semester 1, 2026.
