About this scholarship

Curtin University has provided funding in the form of a Living Allowance Stipend and a tuition offset support to work with their industry partner on the following Australian Research Council [ARC] Linkage Project: Optimising cost-effective services to the aged CaLD community. 

The project aims to improve the lives and wellbeing of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) persons living across Australia, so students from CaLD backgrounds and/or those interested in researching the welfare of aged multicultural persons are strongly encouraged to apply.

The scholarship provides a living stipend of $37,500, based on a full-time enrolment, for up to a maximum of 3 years. The total amount funded will be a maximum of $111,000 over a 3-year period.

Scholarship Details

DR-MKTG, Doctor of Philosophy – Marketing.

  • Australian Citizen, International Students, Australian Permanent Resident, NZ Citizen or Permanent Humanitarian Visa.
  • Full time enrolment ONLY.
  • Based on the Bentley Campus, Perth, Western Australia.
  • Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree with a First [1A] or Second Class [2A] designation, or hold a master’s degree with a substantial research / thesis component.
  • Existing qualifications must be in Marketing, Services management or a Cognate discipline..
  • Relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable.
  • Evidence of journal or conference publications desirable.
  • The successful applicants must be enrolled on a full-time basis and cannot hold any other scholarship.

In your brief rationale, please indicate how you can contribute to a project that examines the role that culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) persons can play in optimising outcomes in the age care sector.

Once you have contacted Associate Professor Kingshott, you may be invited to apply for the scholarship by completing an Expression of Interest to join the program, via Curtin’s EOI form.

All potential candidates will be interviewed as part of the selection process. 

Enrolment Requirements

In addition to standard university performance indicators (e.g. reaching HDR program milestones in a timely manner, remain on good standing, see https://www.curtin.edu.au/students/essentials/higher-degree-by-esearch/milestones/) the incoming project student will need to meet several other performance indicators specific to the project. 

Enrolment is also on a full-time basis. These project specific performance indicators will be discussed, agreed upon and well documented prior to the commencement of enrolling into the program.
