About this scholarship

The ConvaTec Wound, Ostomy and Continence Scholarship (Scholarship) has been developed to support and encourage Curtin University students studying the specialist nursing field of wound, ostomy and continence practice. The scholarship is funded by ConvaTec, a global medical products and technologies company that aims to optimise health care outcomes, recovery and rehabilitation for individuals. The Scholarship will provide the following support for up to one year:

  • Up to $2,200 towards student's tuition fees

Note:

  • The recipient's scholarship benefit may not cover their entire fees. The recipient is responsible for any remainder of their student contribution fees.
  • The recipient is responsible for the Student Service and Amenities Fee (SSAF) as the scholarship benefit will not cover this fee.

Scholarship Details

  • Graduate Certificate in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Practice

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Scholarship:

  • Domestic student (Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, Permanent Humanitarian visa)
  • Receive an offer for and enrol into an eligible course at Curtin University in semester 1, 2026 as listed below:
  • Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose

Application process

Step 1: Access application form

  • Application form can be accessed via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
  • If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for all scholarships (equity and merit scholarships) available in this round, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here. Once you submit your application, you will then be considered for all scholarships that you are eligible for in this round

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
  • Tips on how to complete your application can be found under the Applying for scholarships link on the scholarships website

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date is listed at the top of the page
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
    1. Extracurricular Involvement & Leadership
    2. Passion, Knowledge and Vision
    3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    4. Letter of support from current employer
    5. 300 word response outlining benefits of the course for their professional development and current employment

Step 6: Outcome

  • Outcome will be sent via the email address listed through your direct Curtin course application after main round course offers (all successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified

Step 7: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants (including those who wish to defer their studies) must accept by the deadline specified in the offer

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
  • Scholarship is not transferable to another major, course or university

Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must meet all of the following:

  • Maintain a minimum enrolment of at least 50 credits per semester
  • Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 70  
  • Pass all units attempted each study period
  • Not in receipt of any other scholarships, fee discounts or sponsorships that are from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
