About this scholarship

This clinical PhD scholarship aims to build research capacity within the allied health workforce by supporting clinicians to undertake doctoral studies while maintaining clinical engagement. By providing salary support, the scholarship enables recipients to dedicate time to high-quality research that addresses real-world healthcare challenges, fosters evidence-based practice, and contributes to improved patient outcomes. The initiative supports the development of clinician-researchers who can bridge the gap between research and practice, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and lead innovation in healthcare delivery across diverse settings.

This scholarship provides a stipend of $95,169.00 p.a. pro rata indexed based on full-time studies, for a maximum of 3 years. This stipend is inclusive of 0.5FTE research time, plus $10,000 project costs. The successful candidate must maintain 0.3FTE clinical duties.

Scholarship Details

Any registered allied health clinician willing to complete a PhD.

  • Australian citizen/ Australian resident
  • Full-time/ part-time enrolment
  • Show an active commitment and leadership in their clinical field
  • Must hold current registration with the relevant allied health professional regulatory authority
  • Successful recipients must also not be in receipt of any other scholarship.

Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must complete their milestone 1 within 6 month of enrolment. Recipients must also maintain registration with their governing body for the duration of the scholarship, and must maintain 0.3FTE clinical duties for the duration of the scholarship.
