About this scholarship
The Peritas Engineering Scholarship (Scholarship) was established to support high achieving Civil and Construction Engineering students through their second to fourth year of studies.
Peritas, originally known as Structural Focus, serves as an innovative engineering consulting firm, with a focus on industrial, mining, land development, infrastructure, and commercial projects. Peritas’ vision is to create engineered futures beyond convention.

The Scholarship will provide the following support for up to three years (based on a full-time enrolment of 100 credits per semester):
- A total value of up to $30,000 paid as a cash stipend of $5,000 per semester
- Guaranteed paid vacation work with Peritas in the recipients second and/or third year
- A potential 12-month work contract on a full-time basis following graduation
The amount can be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards educational related expenses.
Note:
- Payment for the final semester of the scholarship ($5,000) is subject to the recipient accepting a 12-month full-time contract (following graduation), should it be offered by Peritas.
Scholarship Details
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Construction Engineering) (Honours)
Double degrees will not be considered.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Scholarship:
- Domestic student (Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian or New Zealand citizen)
- Enrolled full-time (100 credits) in the second year of an eligible degree and major in semester 1, 2026
- Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 70
- Be interested and willing to participate in work experience opportunities with the industry sponsor
- Not be in receipt of any other scholarship from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
Application process
Step 1: Access application form
- Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
- If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for this scholarship, as well as all equity and merit scholarships, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete)
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process
- Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time

Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Responses to questions in application form
- Academic merit
- Non-Academic Achievements
- Passion for course / Vision for career
- Interview performance (for shortlisted applicants)
- Preference will be given to female students
Step 6: Shortlist for Interview
- Shortlisted applicants will be sent an interview date and time via their student email in late March to early April
- Shortlisted applicants must be available for the designated interview time (25 March - 22 April)
Step 7: Outcome
- Successful and unsuccessful interview applicants will be notified of their outcome via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) within 9 weeks of closing date
Step 8: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the lapse date
Please note:
- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
Enrolment Requirements
Recipients must meet all of the following:
- Remain enrolled in initial course of study
- Maintain a full-time enrolment of 100 credits per semester at Curtin University
- Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 70 each semester
- Pass all units attempted each semester
- Complete a minimum of two of three periods of vacation work with Peritas
- Undertake a research project in final year focusing on a partner-sponsored topic
- Accept a 12 month work contract on a full-time basis following graduation (should it be offered by Peritas)
- Not apply for or receive any other scholarships from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
