About this scholarship
The purpose of the MNG Surveying Scholarship (Scholarship) is to support and encourage surveying students who have a special interest in cadastral surveying, mapping or mining surveying.
MNG is a major Surveying and GIS consultancy group dedicated to providing personalised and innovative spatial solutions to both the Land Development and Resources & Infrastructure sectors across Australia. The company has developed expertise in a wide range of 2 and 3-dimensional surveying for cadastral, engineering, mining, GIS and mapping. Services range from land subdivision project management to 3-dimensional surveying using terrestrial laser scanning, GIS software development and Photogrammetric Mapping and Visualisation.

The Scholarship will provide the following support for up to a maximum of one year:
- A total value of up to $5,000 paid as a cash stipend of $2,500 per semester. The amount can be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards education related expenses
- Guaranteed paid vacation work with MNG
Scholarship Details
- Bachelor of Mine and Engineering Surveying
- Bachelor of Surveying (Honours)
Double degrees will not be considered.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Scholarship:
- Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
- Enrolled full-time (minimum 75 credits) in the third or fourth year of an eligible course in Semester 1, 2026
- Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 50
- Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
Application process
Step 1: Access application form
- Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
- If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student and would like to be considered for this scholarship, as well as all equity and merit scholarships, we recommend that you apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program here (only one application form to complete)
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process

Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel on OASIS
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Responses to questions in application form
- Passion for course and vision for career
- Interview performance (for shortlisted applicants)
Step 6: Shortlist for Interview
- Shortlisted applicants will be sent an interview date and time via their student email in mid-March to early April
- Shortlisted applicants must be available for the designated interview time (25 March to 22 April)
Step 7: Outcome
- Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of their outcome via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) within 9 weeks of the scholarship closing date
Step 8: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the lapse date
Please note:
- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
Enrolment Requirements
Recipients must meet all of the following:
- Remain enrolled in initial course of study
- Maintain a full-time enrolment of at least 75 credits per semester at Curtin University
- Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 50 each semester
- Pass all units attempted each semester
- Undertake paid vacation work with MNG each semester break during the scholarship tenure
- Not receive any other scholarships that are from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose whilst receiving the Scholarship
