Curtin University is supporting a fellowship position to attend the International Monetary Fun / World Bank Annual Meetings. The fellowship program includes attendance at both a domestic and international delegation, as well as private meetings with subject matter and policy experts, esteemed academics, Commonwealth Government Departmental Secretaries, Members of the Australian Parliament, and leaders of civil-society and private organisations. The program consists of three components:
The fellowship includes:
- Support to publish a policy proposal
- A 3-day Canberra pre-departure briefing and training
- Travel to the Bangkok, Thailand to attend the International Monetary Fun / World Bank Annual Meetings.
International Monetary Fun / World Bank Annual Meetings
The IMF/WB Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organisations, and academics to discuss issues of global concern. Topics include the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness. Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world's financial system.
The fellowship allows the successful applicant to develop research, analysis and policy-writing skills through developing a policy paper related to the delegation agenda.
Global Voices is a not-for profit organisation that is committed in nurturing the next generation of Australian leaders by providing practical experience in foreign policy and international relations. Since their establishment in 2011, over two-hundred young people were supported by Global Voices to attend over fifty international summits to represent Australia.

The fellowship position is fully funded by Curtin University and includes all domestic and international flights, accommodation, breakfasts, visas, insurance, incidentals, and registration fees (you will need to cover the cost of meals and some transfers).
Scholarship Details
- All undergraduate degrees
- All postgraduate coursework degrees
This Global Voices Fellowship Program is open to all Curtin University undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students. Candidates must also meet the following requirements:
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Aged 18 to 30 for the full duration of the fellowship program
- Living in Australia for the full duration of the fellowship program
- Available to travel to Canberra for the pre-departure briefing (22 June to 24 June 2026)
- Available to travel to Bangkok, Thailand, for the specified dates (12 October to 18 October 2026)
- Able to commit at least 5 hours per week to the fellowship program
- Currently hold, or can obtain, a passport well before the delegation's dates and will be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the delegation
- Able to successfully procure visa/travel requirements for Thailand (if required)
- Have not taken part in the Global Voices fellowship program before
This fellowship is recommended for students with multidisciplinary interests in economic development, sustainability, international cooperation, finance, management, and/or commerce.

Please note that the Global Voices Fellowship Program’s application process has changed for 2026 and is now divided into three stages:
Stage 1 - Expression of Interest

- Close: 17 April 2026 (9:59pm AWST, 11:59pm AEST)
How to apply
Applications must be lodged via Global Voices - Apply Now website - Please select 'Apply Now' and then 'IMF & World Bank Annual Meetings' to complete your application online
Stage 1 - The Expression of Interest form comprises questions about:
- Why you would like to participate in the fellowship program
- What your previous experience related to the delegation you're applying for looks like
- The policy issue you'd like to address throughout the fellowship program
After the Expression of Interest application close date, Global Voices will begin the assessment process.
Stage 2 - Application Phase (Invitation only)
- If you have been successful in progressing to Stage 2 of the assessment process, you will receive an invitation from Global Voices to submit a secondary written application (to be provided to you upon invitation). Please check your emails diligently (including spam/junk) as Global Voices are unable to extend applications timelines for anyone
Stage 3 - Interview Phase
If you are shortlisted following Stage 2, you will be invited by Global Voices to participate in an online interview with member/s of the Global Voices Executive Team.
- You may also be asked to provide professional references following your interview
- Final selections will be made after these interviews are completed
