About this scholarship

Curtin University strives to give international students the opportunity to pursue their ambitions and gain a world-class education through the Curtin Global Future Leader Scholarship. This scholarship provides eligible students a one-off credit of AUD$10,000 against the tuition fee of the course they are undertaking.

This scholarship provides eligible students a one-off credit of AUD$10,000 against the tuition fee of the course they are undertaking.

Scholarship Details

  • All undergraduate degrees, excluding the Bachelor of Science (Medical Radiation Science), Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Science (Advanced Nursing), Bachelor of Science (Paramedicine), Bachelor of Science (Oral Health Therapy).
  • All Master degrees by coursework, excluding the Master of Dietetics, Master of Midwifery, Master of Occupational Therapy, Master of Social Work (Qualifying), Master of Clinical Physiotherapy and Master of Nursing Practice.

This scholarship is only for:

  • International, fee-paying, non-sponsored students of any nationality except Australian; and
  • Will be studying in an eligible Curtin undergraduate degree course, OR a Masters degree by coursework (your Course); and
  • Will be studying at a Curtin Western Australian campus (WA Campus) commencing in 2027; and
  • Will be studying at least 1.5 years (minimum of 300 credits) (Scholarship term) at the WA Campus; and
  • Achieved a Credit level in your academic status with the required Course-Weighted-Average or equivalent scores in your most recent and eligible course of study. This is determined by Curtin University and may change without notice
  • Are not enrolled in one of the following: (1) Not-for-Degree Exchange or Study Abroad program (2) campus transfer from a Curtin global campus (3) a recognised joint program at a Curtin Transnational Partner Location outside Australia; and
  • Will not be enrolled in one of the courses excluded from this Scholarship program. The list of Excluded courses is determined by Curtin University and may change without notice.
  • Are not a recipient of an international scholarship offered by Global Curtin in a previous course of study at Curtin that is incomplete.

Please note that this scholarship:

  • Provides a one-off credit of AUD$10,000 against the tuition fee.
  • The recipient must pay the full Deposit amount set out in your Letter of Offer for the first study period of your Course. An amount of AUD$5,000 will be paid into your student fee account after the census date for that study period (First Period Credit).
  • In the second study period of your Course, your total Course fees for that period will be further reduced by the First Period Credit. Remaining amount of AUD$5,000 will be paid into your student fee account after the census date of the second study period (Second Period Credit).
  • In the third study period of your Course, your total Course fees for that period will be further reduced by the Second Period Credit.
  • Only covers tuition fees and does not cover any other international student expense
  • Will be credited to recipient’s fee account after census date of the first study period
  • Cannot be withdrawn or refunded in cash
  • Can be revoked at the discretion of Curtin if recipient already has a scholarship or sponsorship
  • Can be revoked if the recipient does not accept their Letter of Offer or enrol in their course by the date specified
  • Cannot be retained if a recipient defers their studies beyond the study period and year that has been offered
  • Cannot be transferred to a Curtin campus or partner outside Western Australia, or to another university
  • If your citizenship changes during the Scholarship term, Curtin will revoke the Scholarship, in which case the First and/or Second Period Credit will be removed from your tuition fee account.

To accept this scholarship offer, you must pay the full Deposit amount set out in your Letter of Offer for the first study period of your Course.

If you do not meet these Terms & Conditions, Curtin may revoke the Scholarship offer effective immediately, following which you may be required to pay any outstanding fees for your Course to Curtin if the scholarship credit has been applied to your student account. 

Curtin reserves the right to cease offering this Scholarship if you do not accept by the due date stated on the Letter of Offer OR when all the Scholarship places are filled. You will be formally notified if the Scholarship is no longer valid or withdrawn.

Application process

There is no separate scholarship application required. Students are invited to apply for the Curtin course through one of Curtin University registered education agents OR apply directly to Curtin online 
All qualifying applications to Curtin are automatically assessed for the Curtin Global Future Leaders Scholarship ($10K). Global Admissions will assess each application accordingly and issue a supplementary letter, along with a Letter of Offer, to confirm whether the applicant has been successful.

Enrolment Requirements

To prevent the scholarship from being revoked, the recipient:

  • Must not be a recipient of an international scholarship offered by Global Curtin in a previous course of study that is incomplete, at Curtin.
  • If the recipient applies and receives Credit for Recognition Learning (CRL) during the Scholarship term, Curtin will reassess whether their eligibility. If the total number of credits for their studies fall below the minimum number of credits required for this Scholarship, Curtin may revoke the Scholarship, in which case the First and/or Second Period Credit will be removed from their tuition fee account, following which the recipient will be required to pay any outstanding fees for their Course to Curtin
  • Must maintain enrolment as an international full fee paying and non-sponsored student during the Scholarship.
  • Must maintain an academic status of ‘Good Standing’. Academic progress will be reviewed each study period and continuation of the Scholarship is subject to maintaining the criteria at all times.
  • Must maintain full-time enrolment (as per study plan in the course structure) in each study period during the Scholarship term.
  • Must not be on Leave of Absence (LoA) during the Scholarship term. The study period(s) in which the recipient is on LoA will still be counted as part of the Scholarship term
  • Must not be Withdrawn or AWOL from Curtin. If the recipient is no longer enrolled at Curtin, Curtin will revoke the Scholarship. Outstanding tuition fees may be incurred as a result of the revocation.
  • Must not receive, hold or be awarded any other Curtin or Australian government scholarship while in receipt of this Scholarship.
  • Must abide by Curtin's policies and procedures, Student charter and not be found guilty of serious misconduct.
  • Cannot breach the scholarship conditions outlined in their acceptance document.
