About this scholarship
The NAB Foundation First Nations Futures Scholarship (Scholarship) has been developed to encourage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying an undergraduate degree in Business.
The scholarship backs ambition, leadership and excellence in business and finance as a pathway to self-determination and community prosperity. Established by the NAB Foundation, the scholarship supports and empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business. The scholarship aims to reduce barriers to education, foster leadership, and provide financial assistance to help students achieve their academic and professional aspirations. It seeks to make a meaningful difference for individuals, families, and communities.

The Scholarship will provide the following support for up to a maximum of 4 years (based on a full-time study load of 75 credits):
- A total value of up to $90,000 paid as a cash stipend of $11,250 per semester
The amount can be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards education related expenses.
Scholarship Details

All undergraduate award degrees in Curtin Business School:
- Bachelor of Business Administration
- Bachelor of Commerce
- Bachelor of Advance Commerce Honours
- Bachelor of Innovation
Double degrees considered.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Scholarship:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
- Enrolled full-time (minimum 75 credits) in the first year of an eligible degree in semester 1, 2026
- Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 50 (if applicable)
- Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
Application process
Step 1: Access application form
- Application form can be accessed via the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page
- Please note that this link will direct you to the general "Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program" application form. Once you submit your application, you will then be considered for all scholarships that you are eligible for in this round.
Step 2: Complete
- Complete the application form online
- Application form can be saved at any point of the process

Step 3: Submit
- Closing date is listed at the top of the page and within the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS)
- Incomplete applications will not be assessed
- Once submitted, application status will change to submitted
Step 4: Receipt
- Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted
Step 5: Assessment
- Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
- Responses to questions in application form
- Academic Potential
- Non-Academic Achievements
- Passion for Course / Vision for Career
- Barriers to Education
Step 6: Outcome
- All successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of their outcome via the Scholarships Channel (Student OASIS) within 9 weeks of the scholarship closing date
Step 7: Acceptance
- Successful applicants must accept the terms and conditions via the Scholarship Channel (Student OASIS) by the deadline
Please note:
- Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
Enrolment Requirements
Recipients must meet all of the following:
- Remain enrolled in initial course of study
- Maintain a full time study load of at least 75 credit points each study period at Curtin University
- Maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of at least 50
- Pass all units attempted each study period
- Not be in receipt of any other scholarship from the same funding source and/or for the same purpose
Changes to Enrolment
- Leave of Absence (LOA) is not permitted
