Centrelink offers a scholarships to students in higher education to assist with the costs of living away from home.

The Relocation Scholarship is available to eligible Youth Allowance and ABSTUDY customers who are required to live away from home to study.

From 1 January 2015, the Relocation Scholarship is only available to students relocating to or from regional areas. Students relocating from major cities are only eligible for the Relocation Scholarship if they relocate to study at a regional campus.

If you are currently receiving a Commonwealth Scholarship, you will continue to receive this scholarship until it expires, provided you continue to meet all the eligibility criteria.

You cannot receive a Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship and a Relocation Scholarship for the same period.

You cannot receive an Abstudy Residential Costs Option and a Relocation Scholarship for the same period.
