Curtin International Financial Assistance Scholarship (Study Abroad) aims to support students in financial need who have chosen to undertake a semester international exchange placement in Semester 1, 2018.

These scholarships are offered to students participating in exchange programs administered by the Curtin Study Abroad & Student Exchange Office

Curtin International Financial Assistance Scholarship will offer a one-off cash payment of $3,000.

There will be two scholarships available to students undertaking a semester international exchange placement in Semester 1, 2018.

Eligible courses

All undergraduate coursework or postgraduate coursework courses

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the Scholarships:

  • Meet the exchange program criteria
  • Undertaking a semester international exchange placement in Semester 1, 2018 
  • Must be in first semester of exchange if studying over two semesters
  • Not have previously received a Curtin international scholarship or a Curtin International administered scholarship such as ISEP, EKSEP and New Colombo Plan
  • Enrolled at Curtin Bentley Campus
  • Not be in receipt of a scholarship that offers a stipend towards international study exchange such as John Curtin Undergraduate Scholarship or the Don Watts High Achiever Scholarship


Please note that this scholarship supports students who have applied for an international semester exchange program through Curtin's Study Abroad and Student Exchange Office.

Conditions that need to be met to keep your scholarship

Recipients must meet all of the following:

  • Students must maintain a fulltime enrolment of at least 50 credits per semester in the course that they received the offer of the scholarship at Curtin University, unless approved otherwise by the Study Abroad & Student Exchange Office (SASE)
  • Successful completion of the semester exchange placement

How to apply

Application process

Step 1: Apply

  • Application form can be accessed via ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS or via the ‘Apply Online’ button on the top right-hand side of this page

Step 2: Complete

  • Complete the application form online
  • Application form can be saved at any point of the process
  • Multiple scholarships can be applied for at one time
  • Tips on how to complete your application can be found under the ‘Application Advice’ tab on the scholarships website

Step 3: Submit

  • Closing date listed at top of page and within scholarships channel on OASIS
  • Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Once submitted, application status will change to submitted

Step 4: Receipt

  • Application receipt will be sent to student email once application has been submitted

Step 5: Assessment

  • Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:
    • Responses to questions in application form
    • Demonstrated financial hardship

Step 6: Outcome

  • Successful and unsuccessful applicants notified of outcome via Official Communications Channel within approx 6-8 weeks of scholarship closing date

Step 7: Acceptance

  • Successful applicants must return acceptance documents by deadline listed in Official Communication

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit
  • Scholarship will commence from first semester of overseas study
  • Scholarship is not transferrable to another major, course or university

Students may apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for however, will only be awarded up to one Curtin funded continuing scholarship.  A continuing scholarship is defined as a scholarship that has more than two payments.  A Curtin funded scholarship is a scholarship that is solely funded by Curtin.
